Showcase your work at Festival of New Cinema, Digital Culture & Art, Liverpool/Manchester – deadline 11 August 2013

Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is an energetic regional festival of new cinema, digital culture and art. The festival takes place annually in Liverpool and Manchester on alternate years, with an extended regional programme.

Our mission is to push the boundaries of audience experience through a programme that spills out of galleries and screens into the streets of the Northwest.

To date AND has commissioned 56 new works across several platforms including visual arts, film, performance, the public realm and and media art.

AND 2013 will be an exciting foray into current artistic and cinematic practice, blurring the boundaries between art, science and cultural activism.

New to the programme this year will be the AND Fair on Sat 05 Oct in Liverpool (venue TBC). The fair is inspired by the World’s Fairs of old, where inventors could showcase new inventions and discoveries such as electricity, moving images or the fluorescent light bulb.

AND is offering a bursary of up to £500 for emerging practitioners to showcase new work or work in progress at the fair. Whether you are an artist, engineer, hacker, technologist or maker – or you sit somewhere in between – we would love to hear from you.
